Rivers police arrest another woman for pouring hot water on her husband over N15,000
The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a lady, Godslove Olakada, who poured hot water on her husband, Olakada Ejire, following a domestic dispute in Agbonchia network in Eleme Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday, October 14, 2023, while her husband was rushed to a hospital at Aleto Eleme where he is currently receiving clinical remedy.
According to an eyewitness, the girl had accused Ejire, of not giving her N15,000 that was shared among them and their kids from the host community dividends, and this led to a heated argument.
Angered by this development, the mom of two poured hot water on her husband's face and attempted to get away.
“Thereafter she took her husbands Automated Teller Machine(ATM) and attempted to flee with it, whilst youths in the area apprehended her and handed her over to the police,” the witness stated.
This incident occurred not less than a week when a lady, Hope Nwala, poured hot groundnut oil on her husband in his sleep following a disagreement in Okehi, Etche LGA of the state .
Spokesperson for the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident in a announcement on Monday, October sixteen, stated that the lady has been arrested.
“The Rivers police, operatives, through credible intelligence, have arrested one Godslove Olakada (f) from Agbonchia Eleme on Saturday, 14/10/2023 at about 20:30hrs for pouring hot water on her husband, one Olakada Ejire (m),” the assertion read.
“He was rushed to Famo Hospital at Aleto Eleme for treatment. The cause was as a result of domestic family issues.
"An investigation has began to get to the root of the problem,” the PPRO delivered.
