Experience Gained In 2023 General Elections Will Be Used In Bayelsa, Kogi, Imo, November 11 Gov Polls, INEC, Said.
The Chairman of the commission , Prof Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this in an assembly with stakeholders in election in Abuja.
Nigeria's electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has found out that five,409,438 million registered citizens will take part in the off-cycle governorship elections that will be held in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states on November 11, 2023.
The Chairman of the commission , Prof Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this in an assembly with stakeholders in election management in Abuja.
According to him, the elections will be held at 10,510 polling units spread across 649 electoral wards in fifty six nearby authorities areas of the 3 states.
Giving the breakdown activities, Yakubu stated: "In the following 3 weeks, off-cycle governorship elections may be held in Bayelsa, kogi and Imo States.
"The 3 elections will contain 5,409,438 registered voters so as to vote in 10,510 polling units unfold across 649 electoral Wards in fifty six Local Government Areas.
"So some distance, all non-sensitive materials for the election had been introduced to the 3 States. Other preparatory activities, inclusive of training, are on course.
"Valuable lessons were learnt from the 2023 General Election for progressed overall performance inside the impending elections."
